Sex for men

Sex has a lot more benefits than simply the feeling you get when it's coming to an end. The good feelings swirling around the brain during sexytimes are due to brain chemistry, specifically dopemine and opoid chemicals. But the greatness extends beyond our brains. It probably won't take much convincing to follow this general rule, but we think you should know it anyway, the more sex you have, the healthier you'll be. Not only can it help your general mood (where it reduces stress) but its proven that there are tangible ways sex slows down the aging process, fights disease, eases pain and even heals wounds.

Most people learn the basics behind sex when our parents or sex teacher sit them down for a talk about where babies come from. And sure, sex is about reproduction. But it also has a number of pleasant side effects that aren't quite as well-know. Here are things (safe) sex can do for you.

  • Sex makes your heart strong
You know she makes your heart go pitter-patter when she's coming over, but turns out, she's protecting your heart in other ways too. Men who have sex three or more times a week cut their heart attack and stroke risk in half.

  • Sex improves you mood
Sexy time keeps you in good spirits. In addition to relieving your stress from work and improving your self-esteem, sex can actually fend off depression by releasing those feel-good endorphins.

  • Sex ensures a good night's sleep
Getting laid is essential to your health, affecting everything from your mood to your weight. One way to ensure you get enough sleep? You guessed it, a roll in the hay. Oxytocin, the "love hormone" released when you come, is a natural sleep aid.

  • Sex decreases prostate Cancer risk
Having sex regularly may protect you from getting cancer later in life. A National Cancer Institute survey found that guys who averaged 21 ejaculations a month had a 33% lower risk of prostate cancer than those with just four or six ejaculations a month.

  • Sex keeps you fit
Trying to stay in shape? Look no further than the bedroom. In addition to strengthening your stomach, back and pelvic floor, a 15 minute romp torches about 100 calories. If we're talking a more intense, +- 45 minute long session, that burns about 385 calories. Talk about a total body workout.

Men's cable Sweaters and Cardigans

Either sweaters or cardigans, thin or thick, solid or patterned, knitwear resonating with the fall season span over many and different styles, mixing functionality with some of the most pertinent runway trends. That said, the classic element seem to always persevere, meaning there's absolutely nothing wrong in sticking with a timeless cut and choice of fabric.

Cable knit sweaters and cardigan are not just for your grandpa anymore. You can now wear this knitwear style and actually be fashionable, knitwear has become an integral part of every man's clothing collection, not just in terms of utility but also style. Advanced in milling technology, yarn quality and printing techniques in recent decades have meant that knitwear has taken on a much broader and flexible role within the contemporary wardrobe.

Sweaters are far more playful fashion pieces than most men tend to think. A sweater is a stylish way to layer up a blazer chino look, while wearing a coloured or printed sweater on its own gives life to a noiseless tee and jeans outfit.

Consider the classic round/crew neck as your staple, go-to sweater. How you wear it is most likely determined by what it is made from, which in turn will inform how it fits and functions. It's a flexible category that includes a number of different styles and while that might seem like a good thing on the surface, it can present you with styling problems given the huge choice available.

Men's cardigan, underrated and underused, the cardigan is wrongfully perceived as an "old men's wear". The truth of the matter is that the cardigan, either zipped or button down, is just as versatile, as it compliments men of all ages. Simple to remove, it can be worn over dress shirts, just as easily as it can be worn underneath a sport jacket and it can also be matched to a suit. The cardigan is also the only sweater type to allow pockets. Whenever sporting a cardigan, remember to always leave the bottom unbuttoned.

Music for the week

Kygo and Selena Gomez‘s much-anticipated collaboration has finally arrived. In one of her most mature-sounding outings to date,”It Ain’t Me” Gomez narrates the story of a love turned sour over alcoholism above strummed guitar chords and Kygo’s pulsing piano notes. The Norwegian artist expertly chops up Gomez‘s verses for the ensuing chord-buoyed builds and drops, which feature his trademark finger-snap claps and tropical pan flute melodies.

Men In Pink

Pink has made a comeback in men's wardrobe. This colour has a history which most men are unaware of. Whatever point of view about pink being "unmanly", its dying away.

History says that pink wasn't always a feminine colour. In the 19th century men were known to wear pink silky suits that had floral embroideries. If there's anyone to blame for making pink a "girly" colour, it has to be the clothing business from way back. People were more concerned about distinguishing children and babies from adults than boys and girls. Pink and blue were suggested as interchangeable, gender neutral nursery colours.

But here's the thing, you are not a young boy anymore. You've outgrown those blue pajamas and other boy's clothes. You can wear whatever you like, in any colour that works for you. Who says pink isn't allowed when there are pink shirts, trousers, blazers and ties for adult men? Well..nobody, it was just a myth all along. Pink is a versatile colour. The fact is any skin tone works with some type of pink. Dark skinned men look good in light shades such as carnation pink, cherry blossom and lavender pink. Meanwhile guys on the fair side can go with deeper shades like persian rose and hot pink. A word of caution, deeper pinks tend to draw focus away from everything else so they are better for small accessories like a bow-tie and pocket square.

Pink catches women's attention. We all know that women adore pink, therefore wearing pink will make your life much easier with women, if you know what we mean.

Trench Coats this winter

Trench coat are one of the most classic, understated and timeless fashion pieces. It is an integral part of an elegant gentleman's wardrobe, the trench coat has remained a constant in menswear for decades.

A trench coat is a rain-coat, traditionally double breasted, belted and with lapels. The coat often has straps around the wrists that also buckle and shoulder straps. The trench coat has been a staple of men's wardrobes since it first debuted as military garb prior to World War I. The trench coat has remained almost unchanged for over 100 years. The trench is an iconic but surprisingly versatile garment.

Trench coats are made for bad weather. Therefore, they should be made of wool or waxed cotton fabric and of a water resistant or waterproof material. This allows men to stay warm and dry simultaneously. The sleeves may be cuffed or uncuffed, raglan or with no sleeve buttons at all. Since the coat is made for bad weather protection it boasts a large turn down collar which the most elegant and sensible men will wear up to protect from the high winds and also to give a certain panache to his look.

Shorter men will do themselves an injustice by wearing a floor length trench which embellishes their vertical challenges. Also, taller men who wear a trench too short may end up showing too much leg and looking as if his upper body is disproportionate to his lower half. The most flattering length for a trench coat is 3-4 inches above the wear's knee, with a nipped waist and proper length sleeves that are neither too short to show the suit sleeves with hands resting at the side, but neither too long covering the hands and making the man looking childish.

While this shorter version of coat may expose the legs to the weather, this problem can be solved by wearing heavier weight trousers and knee length boots.

Wearing black or dark colored clothes in cold or rainy areas.

Does wearing black or dark colored clothes in cold or rainy areas help one stay warmer over wearing white clothes?

Yes. Light energy can be converted into heat energy. Black objects absorbs all wavelengths of light and converts them into heat, so the object gets warm. White objects reflects all wavelengths of light, so the light is not converted into heat and the temperature of the object does not increase noticeably. Our creative director Nash Sobantwana shows us how its done.

First date impression

First date are exciting but can be damn tricky, you usually don't know the person too well and don't always know what to expect. You are trying to impress her  without coming on too strong or even worse, looking desperate. To avoid awkward situations, check out our essential dos and don'ts:

Dos:

  • The most important thing is being on time. Being late on a date can give a really bad first impression, especially if you do not know each other too well. If you running late, let your date know asap. The same should be expected of her.
  • Keep your hands to yourself. You might thinking that touching her a lot on the first date shows that you're really into her but you actually showing her that you are super-touchy on every first date. Touching should be limited and only natural, friendly and warm and not sexual.
  • Be honest and authentic. Dates are not business meetings or job interviews. While there are certain subjects you should avoid and it is recommended you let your best self shine, focus on having a good time like you would if you were meeting a friend.
  • Make it a two-way conversation. Sure, you have to tell her about yourself, but dominating the conversation by rambling about your life will make you look narcissistic. Or worse by not showing any interest in her, it can seem like you're just waiting for the date to be over so you can get her into your bed.

Don'ts:

  • Try not to get her drunk. It's one thing to be generous, another to be obsessively top up her glass. Take a deep breath and relax, let her control her glass.
  • Suggest a first date at you place. It doesn't send a good message, unless you happen to live in an actual palace. Wait a date or two.
  • Don't be cheap. There's a huge difference between being frugal and being cheap. Frugal is scheduling lunch instead of a dinner date, but cheap is telling her you can't order dessert. If you're cheap with money, you're probably cheap with emotions and possibly in bed.
  • Talk about you ex. If a topic comes up and you can't help but mention them that's not so bad. changing the subject so you can rant about your "crazy bitch of an ex" is pretty my guy.
